Ship Names

Excerpts from two pools of 120+ ship names for a strategy game set in ancient times. Any ships constructed by the player would randomly pick a name from one of these two pools. The intent here was to create funny names who would also underline the idea of a multicultural Rome with a globalized economy.

Other historical references were studied: pagus and burgus were nice alternatives for vicus, and civitates was considered instead of Town, as it indicates a quite ordinary city in the Roman world. The choices made here try to balance flavor, educational content and clarity for the player.
